Welcome Baby Harper! - Preview

As a photographer, I'm always looking for new avenues to explore.  I began following several birth photographers this last year.  Birth is one of the most amazing things we can experience in life, documenting those moments would be one of the most fulfilling avenues I can imagine!  I'm ready! 

While I've not explored that avenue yet, I started to "dip my toe in."  In 2011 I began offering free "Welcome Baby!" sessions to moms who book a maternity or newborn session.  This little session has become quite popular and I have to say it's one of my favorites!  What's better than spending time with a tiny newborn baby and new parents!?! 

Meet Miss Harper!  Harper is my first baby of 2012.  Such a precious little girl!  Congratulations Mom and Dad!!! 

 

Miss A is ONE!!!

I have had the pleasure of playing little Miss A for a year now.  I can't believe how much she has grown.  She's such a cute little princess!  I have enjoyed every second of her sessions this last year.  Here is a little preview of her one year session today. 

One day at a Time

I don't usually blog much and really don't blog in any detail.  I want to change that.  I want my blog to show more of my personality and that I was present in every moment, every photo shoot.  Not that I was just there clicking the button.  Anyone could do that.  I want to tell the story of how that wedding day touched my heart or how that sleeping baby's grin made me feel all warm and fuzzy.  I want everyone who wants to, be able to get a piece of my personality from my Facebook or blog.  I'm not just a photographer, I'm a mom, a wife, a friend, a woman with feelings and emotions... every single wedding, baby, etc. I photograph, I feel a connection to.  I feel that deep emotional pull at weddings and the meaning behind that day.  I feel with my photography.  Get ready to experience more of that with me.  If I love my photos, You will Love my photos.

These last few months, I've had several expeiences that have made me look at how I spend my life.  Not just my life as a whole and my goals 5-10 years from now but my day-to-day life.  Let's face it, isn't it our day-to-day life added all together that makes up our eventual life goals?  So, take life one day at a time, take baby steps, enjoy every day so you will enjoy your whole life as much as you possibly can.

Think about right now....I always say that I want so badly to be a "full-time" photographer.  I really am now, I just have a salary job as well so all my income doesn't come from my photography business.  Some day, hopefully soon, I'll be able to spend most of my "work" time on photography.  However, right now there isn't an hour of my day that I'm not thinking or creating something in my head about my next two, three....four shoots.   (How can I do that better?; What can I learn now?; That headband would be precious on my next newborn.)  Having the label of a "full-time" photographer doesn't change how creative or how much heart I put into my work.  I want to Love all my shoots and projects.  Love your passion, don't turn it into "work".  Show the world your heart in your work.  Let it speak!
